Capacities for Systems Leadership: Musings on systems for the times we are in, with Katherine Milligan on January 13th at 9am Mountain Time. We are in the messy, disorienting, and uncertain transition period when systems are rapidly transforming all around us. Katherine will ask and help us each answer these questions and more: What systems thinking concepts offer a hopeful perspective for the times we are in? How can educators combine experiential exercises with stories to help systems thinking feel more intuitive and convey a sense of agency?
More upcoming sessions:
A session (or maybe more than one of these) where 3-4 educators each have ~8 minutes to share their curriculum or info about a course they are teaching, any challenges they are having and would like help with (i.e. ideas for a new case, etc), and any resources they want to share followed by Q&A/conversation. Brian Trelstad of Harvard will be sharing his course, Nick Gregg sharing about some of the Skoll Centre’s work, and the team at Humber Polytechnic sharing about a course they offer that spans three continents.
We will have a follow up “State of Systems Change Education” community call - and Stanford Social Innovation Review has expressed interest in us potentially sharing our finds from this (what educators are seeing/needing/offering in this regard)
Linda Booth Sweeney has offered up a few incredible session topics with one being sharing some of her manuscript called “Living Skillfully in a World of Systems”
Tuesday Rivera will lead us in a session in January on the 5 Stances for systems change and explore the relationship between systems and sacredness
