John has been a writer, researcher, consultant and thought leader in the social sector for the last twenty-five years. He is currently the Executive Director of Collective Change Lab, a global field catalyst that places healing at the center of systems change. Formerly he was Global Managing Director for the leading non profit consulting firm and think tank, Foundation Strategy Group (FSG). He is the coauthor of numerous articles in Stanford Social Innovation Review including Healing Trauma in Systems Opens Up New Pathways to Social Change, (SSIR’s most read article of 2024) The Relational Work of Systems Change (SSIR's most read article in 2022) and Collective Impact (SSIR’s #1 most read article of all time). He is an adjunct professor at Northeastern University in their Graduate Program for Social Innovation.
